The Governance Commission (GC), in Partnership with the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), has Officially Launched the National Integrity Index (NII)

A new annual tool designed to assess and rank public institutions based on transparency and accountability.
Speaking at the launch on April 9, 2026, at the Headquarters of the Governance Commission, the LACC Executive Chairperson described the NII as a timely step toward strengthening governance, calling it a “mirror” that reflects both progress and gaps across institutions.
Importantly, the Index is not meant to shame, but to guide improvement through credible, evidence-based insights that support reforms and better decision-making. The LACC reaffirmed its commitment to working with partners to ensure the NII drives real, measurable change.
The introduction of the NII marks a shift from promises to action, emphasizing accountability and results. Its success, however, will depend on the collective efforts of government, civil society, the media, and all Liberians in the fight against corruption.
