Counselor-At-Law Oretha Snyder Davis. BBA, LLB, LLM, Commissioner for Prosecution
Cllr. Oretha Snyder Davis is currently one of two Commissioners for Prosecution at the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) since September 2023
Cllr. Davis has thirteen (13) years of professional work experience in the practice of Law, as a passionate Trial Advocate working to uphold Justice and the rule of law, a system that reaffirms the vital importance of holding everyone accountable under the law, by strengthening and addressing societal challenges.
In 1996, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Liberia (UL) and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law (UL) in 2009. In 2014, Commissioner Davis obtained an LLM degree in Trial Advocacy Law from Temple University James Beasley School of Law, in Pennsylvania, the United States of America.
Priorto her appointment as Commissioner with oversight for Prosecution at LACC, Cllr. Davis served as Commissioner for Human Rights at the Independent National Commission on Human Rights, with oversight responsibility for the Department of Complaints, Investigation and Reporting. She also served the Ministry of Justice as Assistant Minister for Administration and Public Safety, and Legal Counsel and Prosecuting Attorney respectively.
Cllr. Davis was admitted into the Honorable Supreme Court Bar of the Republic of Liberia in January 2023.
