LACC Executive Chairperson Attends Launch of "Strengthening Political Governance and Accountability in Liberia" Project
On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) joined the Embassy of Ireland, NAYMOTE Partners for Democratic Development, the Center for Transparency and Accountability in Liberia (CENTAL), and the Center for Democratic Governance (CDG) for the launch of an impactful new initiative titled "Strengthening Political Governance and Accountability in Liberia."
During her remarks at the event, the LACC's Executive Chairperson expressed gratitude to the Embassy of Ireland for its generous funding and support to civil society groups in Liberia. She emphasized LACC's commitment to continued collaboration with these groups in the shared fight against corruption. "Together, we will build a stronger, more transparent Liberia," she said.
Funded by a 1.5 million Euro grant from the Embassy of Ireland, this project is poised to make a significant impact, fostering political accountability, transparency, and democratic governance in Liberia. It will be implemented across three target counties, Margibi, Grand Bassa, and Bong, aiming to reach over 10,000 citizens. Through capacity-building and advocacy, the initiative will empower communities to actively engage in the oversight of resource management at both national and local levels.
LACC extends its sincere thanks to the Embassy of Ireland for championing this cause and to all partners and stakeholders committed to fostering a corruption free Liberia.
