LACC-CENTAL Strike Deal To Fight Corruption

The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission LACC has Signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Center for Transparency and Accountability in Liberia, CENTAL.

Under the Agreement , CENTAL through its Advocacy and Legal Advice Center (ALAC), will work with LACC to identify/receive, document/record, and transfer/forward relevant alleged acts of Corruption reported by the public or citizens for appropriate actions throughout Liberia;

While the LACC will review and investigate upon receipt of complaints from citizen through CENTAL’s Advocacy for Legal Advice Center (ALAC), to determine whether there is substantial evidence to prosecute the alleged Corruption;

Speaking at the Signing Ceremony, LACC Executive Chairperson, Cllr Edwin Kla Martin hailed the signing ceremony as a critical step in jumpstarting collaboration with civil societies in the Country. He said he wants to see the partnership continue on all fronts and promised LACC commitment to the terms and conditions of the MOU.

For his part, CENTAL Executive Director, Anderson Miamen praised the LACC for the work and commitment in fighting Corruption.
He said the signing of the MOU simplify CENTAL commitment to complement the work of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission, LACC.
