The Commissioner for Education and Prevention says Liberians need to contribute to the process of growth in the development of the country.
Atty. George Dahn made the assertion on Tuesday when he officially launched the Nationwide Anti-Corruption Awareness Campaign in Gbarnga, Bong County.
Atty. Dahn noted that every Liberian has a stake in the fight against corruption and as such it’s not a fight for only the LACC.
“Corruption kills the growth of the country; if you don’t join us in this fight, there will no good schools, hospitals and other developments in the country.”
He admonished the participants to be whistler blowers, noting, “when you see something, say something”, encouraging the participants to make use of the LACC website, or call or even write the Commission in reporting corruption incidents.
Speaking earlier on behalf of Bong County Superintendent, Esther Walker; Mr. Cammue Dormea, Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, welcomed the participants and the LACC Team to Bong County and noted that it was a privilege for the county to host the launch for such an important occasion.
For his part, the Program Manager, of the Education and Prevention Division, James Kingsley said that Bong County has to be proud as hosts of the launch of the National Awareness.
He said when history is written, Gbarnga, Bong County will go in the annuals as the venue of the launch.
In separate remarks, the participants thanked the LACC for initiative and recommended a review of the payroll of the educational sector and that the LACC use the various vernaculars for the purpose of reaching out to all Liberian.
The launch was attended by local government officials, religious leaders, the joint security, traditional leaders, marketeers, students among others.
From Gbarnga, the LACC Team will head to Kakata, Margibi County on the next leg.
