LACC LAUNCHES THIRD PHASE OF NATIONAL-WIDE ANTI CORRUPTION AWARENESS IN NIMBA

Tuesday, June 14, 2022: The Executive Chairperson of the Liberia Anti- Corruption Commission (LACC) has asked citizens in Ganta City, Nimba County to join the corruption fight.

Speaking at the launch of the third phase of the nationwide anti-corruption awareness program on the Ganta United Methodist School campus,  Cllr. Martin said the act to take public money which is intended for a country or county development and used for personal gain is corruption.

He explained that the fight against corruption should not be LACC business alone, but all well meaning Liberians because it has destroyed the country massively and so it is time to act by punishing corrupt individuals.

Cllr. Martin told the gathering that corruption is dangerous and has damaged the fabric of our society and therefore the time has come for corruption cases be to reported to the LACC with facts.

He promised the participants that an integrity club will also be established in Ganta, Nimba County to help the LACC with information involving corruption and further encouraged  those who will form part of this club should do away with politics because the commission is not a political institution.

He thanked all participants and encouraged them to join forces with the LACC fight together as a team.

The participants came from a cross section of Ganta including students, the police, the LNBA, Marketing Association among others.

The next stop is Sacleapea, Nimba County for silimiar awareness.
