The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) and the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) held a Joint Press Conference at the LRA Headquarters to announce a Major Landmark in Public Sector Accountability

Earlier this year, LRA Commissioner General Mr. James Dorbor Jallah issued a directive mandating all LRA staff to declare their assets to the LACC, recognizing the importance of transparency in a revenue-generating institution that must lead by example. That exercise has now concluded, and the results are historic.

During the press conference, the Executive Chairperson of the LACC, Cllr. Alexandra Kormah Zoe, applauded the LRA for achieving full asset declaration compliance across the institution.

“The LRA has shown that integrity is not just a slogan. It is a behavior, a deliberate and consistent action that must begin within the walls of our institutions. For us at the LACC, this is what progress looks like. It reflects what the National Code of Conduct demands and what the Liberian people deserve. We salute the LRA’s leadership and staff for embracing this challenge with courage and patriotism.” Cllr. Zoe said.

Commissioner General Jallah reaffirmed that the LRA’s full compliance is in line with its mission to promote integrity in the collection and management of public funds.

“As a public institution, we must lead by example. Compliance is not just a requirement; it is a commitment to public trust,” he stated.

Both LACC and LRA used the platform to call on all government institutions to follow suit in fostering transparency and accountability. The LACC reaffirmed its commitment to supporting such institutions with technical guidance, monitoring, and verification.

Together, we can build a public service grounded in integrity where accountability is practiced, not just promised.
