The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) is currently on a five-day study visit to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) of Sierra Leone from July 28 to August 1, 2025. The visit aims to strengthen bilateral collaboration and promote mutual learning between the two institutions.

During the welcome ceremony at ACC’s Integrity House in Freetown, LACC Vice Executive Chairperson Ernest Hughes emphasized the importance of beginning institutional reforms with a trusted neighbor, citing the strong historical ties between Liberia and Sierra Leone. He also expressed interest in formalizing a twinning arrangement with the ACC to enhance joint efforts in combating corruption.

ACC Commissioner Francis Ben Kaifala and Deputy Commissioner Augustine Foday Ngobie both pledged their full support to the visiting delegation, reaffirming their commitment to open collaboration and knowledge sharing.

The LACC team, which includes Vivian S. Akoto, Executive Assistant/Program Manager in the Office of the Executive Chairperson, and John E. Tommy, Program Manager for Education and Prevention, has already begun touring various departments of the ACC to study its systems, strategies, and operational practices.

This strategic engagement marks a significant step forward in regional cooperation and the ongoing transformation of Liberia’s anti-corruption landscape.
