LACC CHAIRPERSON MEETS WITH DELEGATION FROM THE WORLD BANK

Monrovia, Liberia – March 30 – The Executive Chairperson of the LACC recently met with three members of the Independent Evaluation Team from the World Bank.

The meeting was held to hear from the Executive Chairperson on the effectiveness of the World Bank’s support to the LACC and other government integrity institutions.

Cllr. Edward Kla Martin told the delegation that the World Bank is a key pillar in the governance architecture of the country noting that the World Bank was a prime factor in the establishment of the Asset Declaration Unit of the LACC as well as providing technical support to the Commission.

In response, the Head of the Team, Konstantin Atanesyan said the World Bank was evaluating the bank’s support to institutions over the years especially in the integrity sector.

He said that the Bank was keen on the operation and financial independence of integrity institutions. He said evaluations are important to assessment the effectiveness of the Bank’s project and understand new ways for further interventions.
