Commissioner for Enforcement

M. Osman Kanneh
(BSc, LLB, MA)

Commissioner Kanneh is a well known law enforcement officer. He is also a lawyer. Cllr. Kanneh has worked in the Liberian security sector for over 25 years, beginning with the then National Central Bureau of Interpol when it was autonomous, the National Security Agency and the Liberia National Police Planning and Research Division.

As a lawyer, Cllr. Kanneh associated with the Pierre, Tweh and Associates Law Firm and one time served as Acting Secretary General of the Liberia National Bar Association (LNBA) before his appointment to the current position at the LACC.
Cllr. Kanneh has also occupied several senior level positions in the law enforcement sector including the position of Director, National Security Agency; Deputy Director/Administration, National Bureau of Investigation; Deputy Commissioner/Naturalization and Administration at separate times, Bureau of Immigration & Naturalization; and Chief of Personnel, and Chief of Planning & Research, Liberia National Police.
He was also founding member and a Commissioner on the Contract and Monopolies Commission in the National Transitional Government of Liberia (now the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC)) and Deputy Managing Director for Administration, Liberia Electricity Corporation.

He holds a Diploma in Basic Law Enforcement from the National Police Training Academy, a BSc degree in Economics from the University of Liberia, LLB in Law from the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law, University of Liberia and MA in Criminal Justice from the Atlanta University, USA.

Cllr. Kanneh has oversight responsibility for enforcement and prosecution.
